My little goblins

Ella learned this song at preschool called The Goblin in the Dark and it is probably her favorite song at the moment. She sings it ALL the time. Whenever we put her down for a nap or at bedtime, we can always hear her singing this song to her babies. So, I broke out the video camera tonight to make sure I got it on video because I am sure that she will learn a new song at school next month and this one will no longer be on the rotation.

Everyone needs some time away

Well, at least this mommy does. So, Chris and I took our first trip without the girls a couple of weeks ago. It was my first time being away from Maddie for more than one night. In case you were wondering, I did survive being away from them for four days. I missed my girls like crazy but I must say that I enjoyed sleeping in for the first time since I don't even know when...probably pre-babies. It was so nice to just get up and go wherever we wanted and didn't have to think about packing a big bag full of baby and toddler stuff. And we could sit through a dinner without having to pick up a billions pieces of food off the floor. So, thank you Puerto Rico for giving me a break from my daily routine and allowing me to spend some time with only my wonderful husband.

What's the weather

Here are a selection of hits that Ella learned at preschool minus the clean-up song. That one Daddy taught her.

The artist

One of my favorite things about picking Ella up from school is seeing what little art project she will have in her backpack that day. I try to wait until I get home to open up her backpack but since I have to sit through a couple of lights trying to get out of Decatur, I never seem to make it past the second light before the backpack is open. As most people know, I am not a very patient person so the fact that I can make it to the second light is pretty impressive. I love to hear Ella get all excited as I pull her pictures out of the backpack. She is so proud of them as she holds and admires her artwork.
Here are a couple of pictures of her favorite project she brought home from last week when her class discussed pond life.

Finally, I went into the kitchen the other day to check on lunch and came back to find Maddie had done this....

Fall has arrived

As far as I am concerned, fall does not officially start until you can wear a long sleeved shirt. That day finally arrived today. I have been itching to break out the fall clothes. Since we had a birthday party to go to today and it was outside, I jumped all over it and put the girls in long sleeved t-shirts.

I am so happy that the weather is cooling down and the girls can play outside more and enjoy my favorite time of the year. I know Ella is going to love it when the leaves start to fall. She loves picking up leaves whenever we go for walks. I don't know what she is going to do with herself once they are all on the ground. Come to think of it, I don't know what we are going to do with all of the leaves that she is bound to bring home.
